7 Ways to Increase Your Photography Business Income

You've heard it before...if your biz isn't bringing in those dolla dolla bills - then you've got yourself a hobby.

But - I know that's not YOU. And I know you're someone who likes some strategy served with their mindset...so here we go! ⚡️

7 Ways to Increase Your Photography Business Income 💵🙌🏻

1️⃣ Work Out Your Pricing...

...like properly.

You need to cover your CODB (cost of doing business) - otherwise? You're literally losing money (boo to that! 👎🏻)

Then, in order to make a profit, you'll need to work out what $ amount is right for your situation/goals, and how many sessions you need to do in order to cover your costs and bring in that profit.

2️⃣ Increase Your Prices

Not randomly, but intentionally.

Your prices, no matter where they sit on the scale, should align with your business model (including your Client Experience), biz's positioning in the local market, your experience, the value that you offer, etc.

Are there certain gaps in your photography knowledge and/or business knowledge - where, if you were to close those gaps, it would result in you being able to up-level any of those things I just listed? 🤔

3️⃣ Decrease Your Expenses

...take a look at your CODB.

Is there anything that's snuck in, that you don't actually need?

Is there anything that you previously used, but not longer need - and you just haven't nixed it yet?

This isn't about being a frugal tight ass, who's not willing to invest in anything. That? Will get you nowhere, fast.

It's about being intentional, and clever with what you prioritise investing in.

4️⃣ Increase The Number of Sessions

...as with all of these points, it's your situation, goals, version of success, that'll determine which actions are a good match, and within your bandwidth.

If you can't adjust anything else in this list, then you may need to look at increasing the number of shoots you do.

But, that's the beauty of pricing properly, and pricing intentionally.

Is it better to strive for doing less sessions to achieve your income goals - vs. doing more sessions to achieve the same amount?

5️⃣ Add Another Revenue Stream

...this one is likely a more advanced, in the future, long game strategy.

Additional revenue streams could be anything from presets, to low/high cost digital products, to mentoring sessions, to collabs, and beyond.

But if it interests you as a future goal? Start noticing what other photographers have done to diversify where their income comes from.

6️⃣ Add a Print/Product Store to Your Online Gallery

...another more involved one, but it could literally be a game changer in your biz.

If it sounds cool - but you don't yet feel like you've got the bandwidth to set it up (coz it is more than just saying "don't forget to visit my print store on your way out!")...

then start by considering what kind of holistic Client Experience you might like to offer ie. a one stop shop for a photo session AND tangible, quality products that your clients can enjoy in their home.

7️⃣ Acknowledge and Up Level Your Money Stories

...this one? Applies to every point!

If you're holding onto money baggage, money stories that aren't serving you?

If you don't believe that your offer is 'enough' to charge properly for it?

If you don't see investing in yourself/in your business, as an essential step to growth?

You're going to get stuck.

Learning about and acknowledging money mindset - especially re: increasing your income? Is a big step in creating that sustainable, profitable business you're dreaming of.

I hope this was helpful, lovely lady. I seriously want to see as many women as possible, bringing in the income they require and desire.
